Diana founded Learning Endeavors in 2013 and started the organization because she loves visioning and designing new, innovative environmental education programs and because she has strong grant writing and program management skills. She has enjoyed an exciting career in science and technology education, both in classrooms and supporting education systems as a whole through program and curriculum development and teacher professional development.  More recently, Diana has trained a variety of adults and leaders in Hawaiʻi and other Pacific Island communities.

She has developed and taught multiple online and hybrid courses for adults and teachers, most recently through the Wetland Warriors of Hawaiʻi and the Champions of Coastal Resilience Programs at LE.  She loves designing engaging and impactful environmental education courses that integrate geospatial technology and field studies.

Credentials

In 2025, she acquired a Certificate in Coastal Resilience from UCSC and a Geospatial Educator Certificate from the GeoTech Center for Excellence.  She also holds a Master of Science in Education, a B.A. in Human Ecology, a Secondary Science Teaching Credential, a Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning, and a Certificate in School Leadership & Management.

Pre-Learning Endeavors Experience

 

Prior to starting LE, Diana was a Project Manager for Maui Economic Development Board, Inc., where she developed and launched two successful and thriving science education programs for schools statewide: Island Energy Inquiry, a science curriculum for grades 5-8 that comes with kits and a comprehensive professional development program, and, the GeoTech for Hawaii Schools, an initiative providing resources and training to teachers statewide on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and Remote Sensing. Diana has published peer-reviewed papers on both of these efforts as a result.  Prior to this work, she worked for Akimeka LLC and led the development and launch of a successful mobile science and technology education program on Maui: The Maui Digital Bus, leading the initial science curriculum development which focused on field-based, environmental topics including wetlands, watersheds, and coastal ecosystems.

Diana also worked for the Hawaii Department of Education as the STEM Resource Teacher, supporting innovative education strategies that integrate science, technology, engineering and math in twenty schools. She also served as Director of School Engagement for Hawaii and the Pacific for Project Lead The Way, a national non-profit organization providing K-12 STEM programs.

Personal

 

Diana lives in Wailuku with her family.  She has two kids and three furbabies and one tortoise.  When sheʻs not working, she loves walking, hiking, ocean swimming, snorkeling, backpacking, travelling and reading.
